Produce a written commentary to go with the four A2 sheets you have produced as the final outcome for your containment project.
• How did you initially explore and interpret the theme ‘Containment’?
What emerged from your mind-mapping? What ideas did you identify worth
developing?
• Which Art and Design practitioners did you research and
how did they influence your work?
• Which primary and secondary sources did you use in
response to the theme ‘Containment’ – discuss your use of photography, internet
sources, gallery/museum visits, books, drawing from observation etc.
• Detail the visual recording methods and materials you used
– drawing media, printmaking, fabrics, 3D media etc.
• Explain how your own ideas (in relation to the theme) developed
as the project progressed, including justification of decisions made and how
these helped you to arrive at your outcome, assess the strengths and areas for improvement
in both your developmental work and project outcome.
Your evaluation should be no more than 800 words.
You will be assessed on:
• Your analysis of the use of visual language and formal
elements in your own and other people’s work.
• The quality and detail in your explanations and
justifications for decisions made.
