Vocational Scenario or context

This is an induction project, the intention is to build a range of skills and familiarity with a variety of techniques that will stand you in good stead for the challenges of the next two years. Whilst broadening your skillset we will also aspire to produce some sophisticated visual work that will provide the start of your progression portfolio.
Using a well selected hand-tool as your starting point (this should be an object which has a number of different working parts, textures, different materials in it’s construction, interesting negative shapes and strong structural elements …e.g. corkscrew, can opener) you are required to produce a body of work, which represents your object in a number of different ways. We will build on drawing and printmaking skills and explore processes such as Collage, Digital Photography and PhotoShop.
Once we have a good bank of imagery we will seek to develop this into a collaborative public art project, that has been commissioned by the marketing department at the School and will feature in a prominent position on the campus.
In addition to this brief please refer to https://btecartanddesignblog.blogspot.com/ for additional guidance throughout the project.
